Why join us as an ST doctor?
ST GPs can either:
- join Bristol GP Education for £180 for 12 months membership**, and receive the full range of benefits, or
- come to any single event for £40
** Membership runs from 1st January to 31st December each year
What do we offer?
- We have a long-standing reputation regionally for providing high quality education.
- We are committed to providing stimulating, interactive and learner-centred CPD.
- Every education event will include case studies, Q and A sessions and small group discussion.
- We work with our educators to ensure that they understand and deliver education that is genuinely useful to GPs
- The content of our programme is informed by the learning needs and requests of our GP members.
- The directors of Bristol GP Education are all educationalists and/or practising GPs, ensuring a high degree of topicality and relevance to our programme.
- We have developed close links to GP appraisers: we facilitate the reflective processes required by appraisal, and provide all the mandatory courses required for GP revalidation.
- We offer a ‘core’ programme of over 30 education events (including all those required for GP revalidation), and an additional programme of 6 events, including 2 Hot Topics days, that you can come to for a subsidised additional charge.
- Members of Bristol GP Education receive a range of benefits in addition to attendance at our courses. These include
- support pre and/or post appraisal,
- up to date information about GP revalidation,
- career development tutorials
- an invitation to come, free of charge, to a range of small group meetings which, for example, assist you in developing the reflective practice that is now a feature of appraisal and revalidation.
- We are the only provider of education for doctors to offer an additional programme specifically for Newly Qualified Doctors. This provides all the information and professional training required in the first 2 years post qualification. We also offer NQGPs an experienced GP mentor (in conjunction with the Severn Faculty) for up to 2 years, should this be of interest to you.*
